Position: Project Lead – Agroecology Scale-Up Initiative
Location: Hyderabad, India (with frequent travel to field locations in Andhra Pradesh and
Telangana)
Position-type: Full-Time
Project description:
CSA is launching a project to understand the dynamics of scaling up agroecology in India
focusing on Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In phase one the project aims to do extensive
stakeholder mapping and engagement to understand challenges to agroecological transitions in
India. In phase two the project will design and test pilot programs to address these challenges.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the project & planning,
implementation, and evaluation phases, ensuring the project’s objectives are met within the set
timelines and budget. This role involves extensive fieldwork, stakeholder engagement, and
advocacy to promote agroecological practices among farming communities.

Key responsibilities:
– Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of the project to ensure successful outcomes.
– Coordinate with local communities, government bodies, and other stakeholders
– Conduct regular field visits to the project sites in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to oversee
project activities and engage with local communities.
– Monitor project progress and prepare detailed reports on findings, challenges, and
recommendations.
– Document project learnings through project reports, media articles, policy briefs, and academic
journals in collaboration with academic partners
– Advocate for policy changes and support based on project findings and agroecology principles.

Qualifications:
– Master’s degree or higher in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Rural Development, or a
related field.
– Fluency in English and Telugu is essential.
– A minimum of 5 years of experience in project implementation, preferably in the NGO sector,
with a focus on agriculture, sustainability, or rural development.
– Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects, including planning, budgeting, and
evaluation.
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide
range of stakeholders.

– Willingness to travel frequently to field locations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
– Passion for sustainable development and a commitment to promoting agroecology.
