Objectives:
Establishing
sustainable models in agriculture which are local resource based,
knowledge intensive, environmentally safe and profitable to the
farming community. Such models would address issues related to
inputs, production as well as outputs from sustainable agriculture.
To build farmers’
institutions that would work towards achieving farmer self reliance
and securing farmers’ rights. Such institutions would specially work
for the empowerment of women, dalits and agricultural workers.
Involving
Panchayat Raj Institutions and Community Based Organizations (CBOs)
in implementing sustainable agriculture for the conservation and
management of natural and biological resources so that sustainable
agriculture becomes an integral part of village development.
Building
capacities of farmers, agricultural workers and civil society
workers for promotion of sustainable agriculture
Lobbying and
campaigning for a better and supportive policy environment for
sustainable agriculture.
