| Objectives:
|
- To form women seed village network with self help groups.
- To create
awareness on the importance of seed among the farmers
- To give training
on seed production and marketing.
- To popularise pest and disease
tolerant traditional varieties of seeds
- A greater productive use
of traditional knowledge and practices including innovative approaches
widely adopted by farmers as alternatives
to corporate dependent system on seed.
- Awareness building
on the impact of WTO on seed and seed rights (PBR and IPR)
- Campaign
against GM varieties.
- Globalisation and its effects on seed marketing
- Establish a framework
through which NGOs can continue to improve their capacity, raise
awareness, network, advocacy and lobbying
to influence seed policy.
